This
was our first time to sail in slightly stronger wind. I was
trying to get the boat on the plane to show that it could be done.
I knew it could - the boats are light enough and have enough sail.
You
can see our first mast was way too flexible in this shot - it actually
broke a few minutes later - I will get around to putting that clip up
too. It was so flexible that it reduced the amount of power - the
new masts are much better and give more speed.
We also found
that we had the front end of the sprit boom way too high up the mast -
too much like this and the bottom of the sail becomes very baggy as the
mast bends.
