Canoes in these videos – paddling, sailing, motoring

The boats are …

  • Eureka classic canoe – A simple to build plywood boat. Beautiful and has many of the handling features of classic old time canoes.
  • Quick Canoe – a super simple canoe to build in a couple of weekends (or three if you are lazy). An attempt to get classic canoe ease of paddling and handling into a very basic three panel canoe shape.
  • Quick Canoe Electric – and easily roofrackable cargo canoe. Power for a day with two batteries and an electric trolling motor or 2hp outboard. Capacity to take a family and camping or picnic gear.
  • Beth Sailing Canoe – Captures the elegance of classic sailing canoes from the 1880s. But with easy building and modern performance. For experienced sailors only.
  • Viola Sailing Canoe – a more dinghy shaped sailing dinghy with much more sailing stability. But with half the weight of a sailing dinghy
  • Drop in sailing rig – A 35sq ft sail with attached leeboard for good sailing performance. All removable in seconds Fits almost any canoe.
  • Drop in Amas/Outriggers – Good for fishing or diving stability or to make sailing with a larger sail possible. Fit almost any canoe and can carry a sail.

  1. Hi, I am very interested in the drop in outriggers. I intend to use them for canoe sailing trips on the west coast of Scotland. To get the boat etc up there on the roof of the car, I would need to be able to fit the outriggers inside the hull of the canoe. Could you tell me the max beam and max depth of the outriggers before I fork out for the plans? Thanks
