We just finished doing a Calendar project on the Goat Island Skiff Facebook page.
Archie Wilson … “I got my calendar today and it is absolutely beautiful. The picture quality is great and now I can see there are short blurbs included telling us whose boat is pictured and where the picture was taken. Kudos to MIK and Graybeard and anyone else involved. ”
Last year I kicked off a Facebook group for the sailors and builders of the Goat Island Skiff.
The group is quite busy with discussion, posting of photos of new boats and a lot more.
A few short weeks ago some particularly nice photos appeared and that prompted a bit of a photo competition. I suggested that we choose the best ones and then make a calendar of the group’s best photos.
So we all put all 65 Goat Island Skiff photos together in a facebook album and then everyone had 8 votes to give their favourite shots. This process also attracted a lot of interest from people outside the group with many of them voting too.
We are really happy with the way it turned out … it is on high quality glossy paper.
Like I said – big, beautiful, and well-made. Really heavy stock, which will leave some nice, suitable for framing bits if anyone is so inclined.
I only put a small margin on it to cover unexpected costs, but it is selling for $27 plus post.
Delivery to the North America or Europe is about a week or to the southern hemisphere it would be less than two weeks. The holidays marked are American ones, but some of them are the same as the rest of the world.
If you belong to facebook you can see the photos and the discussion about which were the best boat photos for the calendar
Here is a slideshow of all the photos we voted on.
