Back from the Avalon Air Show 2007 – beautiful things

Though I am mostly concerned with boats it doesn’t mean I don’t have a strong interest in other fields – specially ones as highly related as aircraft design and performance – I’m just back from the Avalon airshow in Victoria.

It’s the biggest airshow in Australia.

The highlight for me was watching how all the hard headed types that were there to watch things go fast and hear a lot of noise go dead quiet and display total attention as a sailplane did an almost silent routine of airobatics.

The elegance of a single leaf blowing in the wind – just stunning.

I have put my pics of the event up on Flickr – I am a bit more focussed in details and images I find interesting rather than just documenting the show.

Hope you enjoy some of the things I enjoyed.

See our articles on design – aerodynamics certainly comes into our considerations!
