Hi Bob,

I remember the hat (and the attempted theft) the name and the face! Nice to run into you again.

I am glad Mr Helbert is gaining a public role. He is one of the most knowledgeable canoe people I know. And his son Eli is just plain scary with the level of knowledge he has (but very gentle but firm with it - was so impressive watching Eli teach a bunch of scouts to Eskimo roll - a real privilege!)

Hi Michael,

We met at the mystic Wooden boat Show last Summer. (You "stole" my new Duckworks cap .. but didn't get away with it. I met Paul Helbert at the Eastern Messabout a month earlier, but missed seeing them at Mystic. Paul is 1/2 of the "Paul & Paul Symposium" to be featured at this years Eastern Messabout, again at Elk Neck, Md at the confluence of the Chesapeake, .. a show & tell with slides covering the Loire trip of course. The other half will be Paul Moffitt covering the OBX 130.

Thanks for the fine write up & pictures; I'll be looking forward to the rest.
