I would like to Welcome Fyne Boat Kits to be a new provider of my plans range in the UK and Europe. See the bottom of the page for a list of what is available now and an enquiry email for items that are to appear yet.
I’m always a little cautious about bringing in new agents, but last year in the USA my fellow designer David Nichols (who knows about lug rigs too – see his book)
They are providing full service (be aware that we are still working on some of the details)
- Storerboats Plan Books
- Storerboats PDF Plans
- Kits – full computer cut
- Plywood – Gaboon/Okoume and cheaper quality plywoods
- Sawn Timber
- Epoxy – Reputable brands
- Glass fabrics
We have been slowly working together over the last few years but the change this year is that Philip from Seawing Boats is moving to the USA so I need a new agent with lots of experience in supplying materials and plans for building light and beautiful boats.
They are very well equipped to help customers with not only plans and advice but a good range of quality boat building materials.
Additionally they understand performance sailing boats so are well placed to support the Goat Island Skiff and the upcoming singlehanded performance dinghy.
It is also hoped the the OzRacer will be able to make a splash as an introductory sailing boat in the UK. It is tremendously capable despite its squareness and can give some more conventional boats a bit of a scare upwind in light and medium winds. It is also able to handle rough conditions much better than many more conventional boats because of its stability and sail carrying power. To experienced sailors it is totally counter intuitive – but it comes down to the fundamental of light weight, high stability, good foils and good mast/sail interaction.
I am very happy to be working with Phil and the team at Fyne boat plans.
