What is included in the Lug Rigging Guide for Viola
It is an opus with many illustrations of how the whole rig goes together.
- Making the two piece aluminium mast.
- Carbon fibre boom and yard from a 50/50 carbon windsurf mast
- Setting up the rudder
- Setting up the sail control systems
- Setting up the reefing systems
- Setting up the hull – hiking straps etc
- And don’t forget the separate Joost’s design for a lightweight seat for wider and taller paddling canoes (Viola is 40 inches wide).

The Viola plywood Sailing Canoe plan has the characteristics of a performance sailing dinghy with the portability of a wooden canoe. More Information on the Viola 14
I am adapting the Viola sail rig to my Electric Quick Canoe/outriggers, so never bought the Viola canoe plans. Can I purchase just the wooden mast addendum to the plans?
I’ve replied and sent that to you in an email Stan.

Metric aluminum tubing is almost impossible to find in the USA. Joost suggested you may have worked out a wooden mast option for the lug rig? Any joy in that?
Working on that for you right now Peter.
Hi Mik – How are the wooden mast plans for the Viola 14 coming along?
